Gratitude in Autumn

Accept What Comes from the Silence / 24" x 30" / acrylic on canvas
At no other time (than autumn) does the earth let itself be inhaled in one smell, the ripe earth; in a smell that is in no way inferior to the smell of the sea, bitter where it borders on taste, and more honeysweet where you feel it touching the first sounds. Containing depth within itself, darkness, something of the grave almost. ~Rainer Maria Rilke~

Cascade Forest / 24" x 30" / acrylic on canvas
This has been an extraordinary summer for the artist/gypsy in me. I have never felt so close to the bone of my soul life. I have traveled extensively, inside and out for the past five months. A journey that has peeled away the unnecessary and revealed the essence and interconnectedness of many places, people and things.

Ten years ago my life was so confused and muddled I didn't think I would ever see clearly again. Today the waters have stilled and are crystal clear. My inner vision is

Summertime Tripping

What a summer it has been!
"Trip the Light" road trip covered 10,000 miles in 2 glorious months. Starting in Boston, Walt and I headed for Montreal, crossed Canada to Vancouver. Spent time in Tofino, Salt Spring Island, Galiano, Washington, Oregon, Wyoming, South Dakota, Colorado and back to Litchfield, CT. I hope to write a more expanded itinerary and produce a book of this trip over the ooming winter months. Stay Tuned.

We saw an abundance of beauty in every landscape we crossed. Prairies, lakes, old growth forests, precambrian rocks, canyons, mountains and oceans. All of it was magnificent and much of it still glorious and wild and free! It
made us so grateful to be Alive!

Two Shows Running Concurrently

The first show is being held as a two day Pop Up Gallery in Lake Placid, NY

An exceptional venue with a view to die for! Hence the name Heaven Hill!
I hope to see you there!

The second show is in the border town of Standstead, QC on the border of Vermont, USA in a converted Blacksmith Studio. This old building is full of charm and perched above the Tomifobia River.  Le Vieux Forgeron is open from 11am to 6pm and is a lovely place to visit. I am honored to have my paintings hanging here until August 16th.

Meeting the Forests of Tofino

A short visit to Vancouver and a couple nights spent with dear friends in Horseshoe Bay was our entrance point to Tofino. The warm welcome of friends and family had set the vibe for the crossing of the Georgia Straight from Horseshoe Bay to Nanimo.

Tofino came as a complete surprise to me. I had heard people rant and rave about this place many times before and
